One Saturday that never stops

Oregon’s standing car meet is a single weekly fixture south of Portland. Portland Cars and Coffee gathers every Saturday from 8am to 11am in the lots of Langer’s Entertainment Center, 21650 SW Langer Farms Parkway in Sherwood, and its organizer says it meets year-round, rain or shine, with snow on the list too. It began in 2008 outside a Starbucks at Jantzen Beach and moved several times as it grew; 2026 was its 18th year. The organizer calls it the largest weekly year-round event in the Pacific Northwest, and its calendar counts about 300 spaces in the general lots.

Two details decide the morning. The gate is reached only from westbound SW Century Boulevard, off Tualatin Sherwood Road, with no entry from Langer Farms Parkway or the roundabout. And spaces go first come, first parked: in the themed months the organizer says the lots can be full by about 8:30am. Its rules are posted and short. No burnouts or revving, no cones or saved spaces, no for-sale signs, no drones, and police are hired to watch the lot every Saturday.

What November changes in Sherwood

From April to October each Saturday carries a theme, Mustang Day through Right Hand Drive Day, with a featured lot for the first 45 to 60 cars that fit it. The 2026 themes closed with Trunk or Treat Day on 31 October. Winter mode follows: the meet keeps its Saturday hours without the themes, and the organizer describes regulars gathering around the fireplace inside Langer’s, where the coffee counter opens at 8am. The themes return in spring 2027.

The winter calendar belongs to the hot rodders

Much of the rest of the state’s car year runs through the Multnomah Hot Rod Council, a nonprofit of car clubs from northwest Oregon and southwest Washington founded in 1954. On the second Saturday of December, its Angels on Wheels toy run meets at 9am in the Portland Expo Center lot and caravans at 10am to Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. In March the council’s 71st Portland Roadster Show fills Hall E of the same Expo Center, Friday 19 to Sunday 21 March 2027; the council has produced it since 1956, and the MAX Yellow Line stops at the door.

Between the two, the Oregon Auto Dealers Association brings the Oregon International Auto Show to the Oregon Convention Center from 18 to 21 February 2027, with new cars alongside hot rods, exotics and SEMA builds, per the organizer.

Clubs that drive through the rain

Oregon’s club calendar is fuller than its meet calendar. The Porsche Club of America’s Oregon Region, which held its first meeting in July 1960, lists more than 75 non-competitive drives a year on public roads: midweek drives on the second Wednesday, Saturday drives on the second Saturday and Sunday cruises on the third Sunday, all year, and in winter any car on suitable tires is welcome. The BMW CCA Oregon Chapter, introduced as the national club’s 67th chapter in 2010, runs monthly socials around Portland, fall drives such as Hood River to The Dalles, and a BMWs and Coffee morning for owners in Eugene.

Portland’s meets on both sides of the Columbia, including the Vancouver summer series that are waiting on 2027 dates, are gathered on the Portland and Vancouver page.
