Porsche Club of America, Oregon Region

The Oregon Region of the Porsche Club of America covers Portland, Salem, Hood River and southwest Washington. More than 75 drives a year, monthly dinners, Road and Fork, autocross, $35 regional dues and a member site that syncs on the 1st.

Both sides of the Columbia

The Oregon Region’s About Us page describes 14 counties, 10 in northwest Oregon and 4 in southwest Washington, and its home page lists Greater Portland, Southwest Washington, Hood River and Salem. The region split from what was then the Washington Region, now the Pacific Northwest Region, and held its first meeting on 24 July 1960 with 32 members. Its newsletter, the Anzeiger, first appeared that September. The PCA region finder returns Oregon Region for downtown Portland, Salem and Vancouver, Washington.

Its home page reports that PCA has awarded the region the Ferry Porsche Trophy, the club’s Region of the Year honor. The submission behind it describes the 2025 season, the region’s 65th: nearly 100 events, 67 single-day drives and membership rising from 1,044 to 1,192 over the year. The home page gives a larger figure, more than 2,000 regional PCA members, so the count depends on which page is read.

Drives every month of the year

Driving is the core. The Driving Events page lists more than 75 driving events a year, all on public roads and non-competitive. Midweek drives usually fall on the second Wednesday, Saturday drives on the second Saturday and Sunday cruises on the third Sunday, year round. Each runs 60 to 120 miles in two or three groups of about 12 cars, with rest stops every 45 to 60 minutes and lunch or a picnic at the end. SUV drives take the back country, with the occasional unpaved road, and model-specific drives are kept for air-cooled cars, Boxsters or GT cars. In winter, the page says, any car with suitable tires is welcome.

Members get free use of the club’s Ride with GPS account, which holds every drive and tour in its library. The multi-day tours are the big ones: the home calendar lists Northwest Passage in June and September 2027 and two runnings of the Oregon Scenic Tour that summer. The trophy submission adds that 2025 brought Snake-n-Bake through Hells Canyon, a Walla Walla wine tour and longer single-day drives of 250 to 300 miles.

Dinners, Road and Fork and the big three

The Social Events page describes a dinner every month: cocktails from 6pm, dinner at 7pm and an end between 8pm and 9pm. Once a quarter, Road and Fork pairs a short drive with dinner at a more upscale restaurant. The three main special events are the Summer Picnic in August, the Holiday Party in December and the Awards Banquet in January, which celebrates the region’s volunteers. The 2026 Holiday Party is on 5 December at Portland Country Club, with a live band.

Events fill quickly. The weekly member email goes out on Wednesdays at 9am, and the Social Events page advises signing up from it early. Tech sessions and autocross round out the calendar. The Autocross page welcomes novices and has loaner helmets, and the trophy submission counts eight autocrosses in 2025 with 168 different drivers.

After joining PCA

Joining the Oregon Region takes two steps, per its Join Us page. First comes PCA membership; then a separate password for the region’s own site, set up with the same email as the PCA account. The region’s member list syncs with PCA on the 1st of each month, so someone who joined mid-month may not be able to log in until the next sync. The page lists ORPCA’s own yearly fee as $35, which brings the weekly email, the two most recent Anzeigers online, Ride with GPS access, a yearly member directory and calendar, a name badge and an anniversary pin every five years. The trophy submission adds a spring New Member Drive. National membership and its dues are explained on Driven Life’s PCA page.

Why can’t I log in to the Oregon Region site after joining PCA?
