Porsche Club of America, Pacific Northwest Region

The Pacific Northwest Region of the Porsche Club of America, chartered in 1959, is Seattle’s region. First Saturday breakfasts, Wednesday dinners, winter tours, autocross at Bremerton and Packwood, the Spiel and $20 regional dues.

Seattle’s region, chartered in 1959

The Pacific Northwest Region’s History page dates its charter to 15 November 1959, originally as the Washington Region, founded by Gene Rideout and Bruce McCassey to talk about their cars in more technical depth than the dealers of the day offered. It began with 60 to 70 members, and many of today’s Zone 6 regions were once part of it, the Oregon Region among them. Its first newsletter, the Washline, was a mimeographed two-page mailing; renamed in 1972, it is now the Spiel. Seattle hosted the 20th Porsche Parade in 1975.

The Membership page counts a little over 2,700 primary members, and well over 4,000 people with associate and family members. The PCA region finder returns PNWR for Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma and Olympia.

Breakfasts, dinners and the Winter Celebration

Per the Social page, dinners fall on the second or third Wednesday of each month and breakfast on the first Saturday, at locations that move around the region. Both are pay as you go, family and friends are welcome, and the page’s advice is to ask for Porsche Club on arrival and park with the other Porsches. The calendar shows breakfasts at 9am with online registration; the November 2026 one is at Rockaway Bar and Grill on Camano Island.

The signature social is the annual Winter Celebration banquet. Summer brings afternoon meet-ups at brew pubs with music and food trucks, a lunch and show-and-shine at the old Triple-X Root Beer drive-in and the Annual Picnic. Monthly board meetings are open to all members; the November and December 2026 meetings are from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Mercer Island Community Center.

Tours in every season

Tours are the most popular activity, per the Membership page. The Tours page describes 10 to more than 50 cars on public roads, mostly family friendly, often with kids and a dog or two along, though an occasional tour is adults only. Tours are usually free for members and guests, with lunch ordered off the menu. Routes run from the beaches of the southwest coast and the Olympic Peninsula forests to the Cascades and eastern Washington wine country, and now and then into Canada and Oregon. Registration is required, and tours fill quickly.

The winter series keeps them going. The calendar lists Winter Tour #1, Fall’s Wanderland, from the Issaquah Safeway to a late lunch at Remlinger Farms in Carnation on 7 November 2026, and Winter Tour #2, a Kitsap small-roads tour from a Tacoma Fred Meyer to Gig Harbor on 12 December.

Autocross, track and the auto show

Autocross runs at Bremerton and Packwood. The autocross page, which still describes its fees as unchanged for 2025, lists $55 an event with $5 off for PCA and BMW CCA members, and four timed runs per driver. Events are open to non-Porsches, non-members and guests, with PCA members first in line when an event is full. Food is on sale at Bremerton; Packwood drivers bring their own. The region also runs driver skills days, driver education, concours with a judges’ class, sim racing and tech sessions, whose past guests include Hurley Haywood, Patrick Long and Vic Elford.

The region also puts on a display at the Seattle International Auto Show, which the calendar lists at the Lumen Field Events Center on 13 and 14 November 2026.

New members

Joining PCA puts a member’s details in front of the PNWR membership chair, who sends a welcome email with a temporary login to the region’s own site. The first login asks for regional dues of $20 a year, which cover a printed Spiel, a vote for the board and online event registration. The Membership page also points to a new members’ day each spring. Everything national, from dues to the join form, is on the PCA club page.
