How the DMV week runs
Saturday belongs to the dawn meets. Katie’s in Great Falls opens at 6am and the good spaces are gone by 5:15am; Hunt Valley Horsepower, north of Baltimore, opens at 8am with regulars arriving at 7am. Both run every week, all year, rain or shine. Sunday is quieter and later: Dulles Landing at 7am, Hollin Hall at 8am on the first and third Sundays, Poolesville at 9am on the second and fourth. Woodbridge takes the first and third Saturdays at 8am, and Belle Haven the second and fourth Saturdays at a civilized 10am.
Most of these are on shopping center lots, and every one of them exists because a landlord keeps saying yes. Katie’s owner said it in 2018: the meet lasts exactly as long as the shopping center wants it. Woodbridge moved twice in autumn 2026 for a community market. Hunt Valley stopped holding anniversary events after one backed up traffic five miles onto I-83. The region’s meets have rules because they have lost lots before.
What is not on this page
Several DMV meets that appear in directories are not here, on purpose. Vienna Cars and Coffee’s own page has not posted since 2023. The Bethesda Saturday meet at the Corner Bakery has an organizer page last updated in 2017 and a venue that listings say has closed. The Montgomery Mall, Union Market, Gaithersburg, Columbia, Waldorf and Charlotte Hall meets could not be read on any organizer’s or venue’s page. Annapolis Cars and Coffee confirms its Sunday hours but not its venue, and City Dock is under construction through 2027. Any of them gets a page the day its organizer’s own statement can be read.
Before you drive
Check the organizer’s page the night before; it is linked as the host on every meet page here. Arrive inside the window. Park in a marked space, not a fire lane, and buy something from the shop that lends the lot. Leave quietly. In Great Falls that is the difference between a meet and a complaint; in Rancho Santa Fe it is the horses; here it is the neighbors on Walker Road and the merchants at Tackett’s Mill.
What is the biggest cars and coffee near Washington DC?
Katie’s Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, which its host put at 500 to 600 cars on a good Saturday in 2018, and Hunt Valley Horsepower north of Baltimore, whose organizer counted 65,000 participants across 2025.
Which DMV meets run in winter?
Katie’s and Hunt Valley Horsepower run every Saturday year-round, rain or shine, per their organizers. Dulles Landing runs Sundays; the Alexandria group has paused for winter in past years.
Is there a cars and coffee in DC itself?
Not one whose organizer’s page could be read. The listed Union Market meet rests on a single unconfirmed directory entry. The nearest verified meets are in Alexandria and Great Falls.
