Alexandria Cars and Coffee meets twice a month on a Sunday morning at Hollin Hall Shopping Center, the strip of shops on Fort Hunt Road in the Mount Vernon end of Alexandria. The group’s own Meetup page puts it in one sentence: “We meet twice a month on Sunday Morning at Hollin Hall Shopping Center between 8:00 AM and 10 AM.” The Sundays are the first and third of the month. The group lists 1 November and 15 November 2026, both 8am to 10am.
The group is private on Meetup, with 1,669 members as of late October 2026, and the exact meeting spot is shown to members only. The shopping center is small enough that this does not matter. Hollin Hall sits on Fort Hunt Road at Shenandoah Road, split across two parcels, and the cars are the thing you see from the road.
When to arrive
The posted window is 8am to 10am. The group’s listing for its 2015 meets ran 8:30am to 11am, so the start has moved earlier over the years, and the current listings on Meetup are the ones to trust. Alexandria Living Magazine’s 2026 guide adds the one tip a first visit needs: “Grab a pastry at Hollin Hall Pastry Shop while you look around.”
The meet is weather dependent. The Zebra reported it as “weather permitting” when it came back from its winter break in 2022, and Alexandria Living’s 2026 listing uses the same words. On a wet Sunday, check the group’s Meetup event before driving.
Where to park
The lot belongs to the shops. Hollin Hall is managed by Woodlawn Properties, and its tenants open as the meet winds down, so park in a marked space and leave the entrances clear. The street number used for directions here, 7918 Fort Hunt Road, is a storefront in the center; the group itself gives only the center’s name.
Which cars
The group’s own invitation is broad: “Bring Your classic, sports car, truck, motorcycle, hot rod or exotic car.” Its motto, in its own words, is “If you think it’s cool, I’m sure we will, too!” The Old Town Crier described the field in 2020 as ranging “from new Corvettes and Bentleys to muscle cars to autos of our youth.”
How it started
The group’s page says it plainly: “We started meeting at Hollin Hall shopping center in 2012.” The Old Town Crier covered it in August 2020, when the group also ran a Saturday meet at Sherwood Gourmet on Sherwood Hall Lane, and The Zebra reported its return to Hollin Hall in March 2022 after a winter hiatus. The Saturday meet has since moved to The Haven in Belle Haven, which has its own page here.
The season
In past years the group has run March through November and paused for winter. As of late October 2026 its Meetup calendar lists the two November Sundays and nothing for December. Treat a December meet as unconfirmed until the group posts one.
Before you go
Check the Meetup event for the date you are driving to. It is where the group posts a cancellation. Arrive inside the window, park where the shops would want you to, and leave quietly. A meet on a shopping center’s lot runs on the landlord’s goodwill, and this one has kept it for fourteen years.
What time does Alexandria Cars and Coffee start?
