Porsche Club of America, Riesentöter Region

Riesentöter, the Porsche Club of America region around Philadelphia since 1958, counts almost 3,000 members. Monthly meetings that rotate around the area, autocross from $50, track days open to any car, and the Phil-a-Trunk food drive each November.

The giant killers

Riesentöter is German for “giant killer,” the region’s Club Info page explains, a nod to early Porsches beating bigger cars in competition. It began in 1958, when a small group of Porsche owners in Philadelphia started meeting, and has grown to almost 3,000 members across southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.

Club Info lists Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem in New Jersey, and New Castle County in Delaware. The membership page names a different Pennsylvania set that reaches north to Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon and Schuylkill. Riesentöter sits in PCA’s Zone 2 next to Schattenbaum, Delaware, Potomac and First Settlers, so the PCA region finder settles any address on the edge.

Monthly membership meetings

The calendar’s center is the monthly membership meeting. Per the region’s page for them, meetings rotate around Greater Philadelphia, each with its own topic, speaker or presentation, complimentary food and drinks, and spouses and kids welcome. The 2026 season’s last meeting is on 11 November at RR Racing in Phoenixville.

Autocross and track days

Autocross, per its page, costs $50 to $75 an event, rarely tops 45 mph and usually runs from morning to early afternoon, with classes from stock to full race preparation.

Track days are open to every experience level, non-members included, and need no Porsche. The track page offers three ways in: a full two or three day weekend in a run group matched to experience, a one-day Intro to DE on the Friday for drivers who have never been on a track, or riding along with an instructor. Prices listed there run from $149 for the Intro to DE to $599 for two days and $729 for three. Drivers with fewer than three weekends at three different tracks start in the instructed novice group. The region also runs a car control clinic, Tire Rack Street Survival, rallies and club racing.

Phil-a-Trunk

Each November the region’s food drive turns into a parade. Per the event page, cars gather from 7am at the Capital Grille lot in King of Prussia and leave at 8am in a caravan with a Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company escort, down to the South Philadelphia sports complex, where members open their trunks and frunks of donated food. The Phil-a-Trunk site calls the 2026 drive, on 14 November, the seventh, with car clubs across the Delaware Valley staging at the Xfinity Mobile Arena lot. It kicks off WMMR’s Preston and Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger for Philabundance, and the site counts more than 900,000 pounds of food collected over the first six years. It runs rain or shine.

Der Gasser and joining

The region’s magazine, Der Gasser, is published online, with the Spring 2026 issue the latest posted, and the news page runs member stories such as a wine dinner at The Cage in Audubon and the Northeast gathering of 914 owners. To join, pick Riesentöter as the primary region on the PCA application, based on ZIP code; the membership page says that makes a member part of RTR automatically and that a welcome packet follows. The Porsche Club of America page covers national dues and eligibility.
