About Northern New Jersey

The region’s About page lists its numbers: 3,499 total members, 69 years as an active PCA region, 56 years of driver education, six PCA Region of the Year awards and $44,915 in charity donations in 2025. Its bylaws record incorporation on 30 October 1957. The region does not publish a map of its area. The PCA region finder returns Northern New Jersey for Hackensack, Hoboken and Morristown, and the Jersey Shore Region covers Monmouth and Ocean counties to the south.

Driver education and autocross

Driver education is open to members and non-members, with Porsches preferred but not required, and registration is on MotorsportReg. The 2027 calendar already holds dates: the Lightning circuit at New Jersey Motorsports Park on 17 April, an advanced-solo-only day at Watkins Glen on 26 April sponsored by Paul Miller Porsche, the Thunderbolt circuit at NJMP on 22 May and Lime Rock Park on 21 June.

The autocross page calls autocross the cheapest, safest, least time-consuming way to learn performance driving. It offers loaner helmets and coaching, welcomes friends without a Porsche in more or less whatever they drive, and runs its Pocono autocrosses with the Riesentöter and Central Pennsylvania regions. A Pocono Raceway date is held for 8 May 2027.

Rallies, concours and off-road

Rallies run on public roads at legal speeds, in any car, with no pre-registration: just show up. The rally chair holds a short rally school for novices before each one, scoring starts at zero and adds points for wrong answers and mileage errors, and trophies go to the top three in novice and experienced classes. The Rene Dreyfus Rally’s cup is the exception: its winner must be an NNJR member driving a Porsche.

Concours runs as a season with separate championship points for novices and veterans. A novice is anyone who has not entered a judged NNJR concours in the past twelve months and has never won an NNJR concours trophy. In the full classes a team of three or four judges does a one-minute walk-around and then a three to four minute inspection, and undercarriages are never judged; the people’s choice class needs only a wash and a light interior clean. The Winter Concours Workshop, for members only, is on 22 November 2026 at ID Signs and Graphics in South Hackensack.

The Pine Barrens Off-Road Excursion is a family-friendly tour of the sand trails in New Jersey’s state forests, starting in Browns Mills, with breakfast and a buffet lunch included and children welcome. The 15 November 2026 edition, sponsored by Paul Miller Porsche, is sold out.

Meetings and socials

Monthly meetings carry a program each month: guest speakers, race drivers and track designers, an annual photo workshop and contest, a Pinewood Derby and a cruise night. They are streamed on Zoom and YouTube and recorded, and the calendar marks each one, held on a Wednesday evening, as for PCA members only. Tech sessions, by contrast, are open to members and guests.

The annual meeting, with elections of officers and governors, is on 11 November 2026 at 7:30pm at the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms in Morris Plains. The holiday party follows on 11 December at The Highlawn in West Orange, with music by Jerry Vivino and Company and registration closing 6 December. The region’s wine tasting reached its 50th edition in 2023. Its 2026 charity partner is IronMatt, the Matthew Larson Foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumors, and Porscheforus, the monthly digital newsletter, took second place in Class VI of PCA’s 2026 national newsletter contest.

New members

The Join Us page sends people to PCA’s online registration and names a membership chair, and the About page lists a separate new-membership liaison for people just joining. Driven Life’s PCA page has the national dues and the application.
