The area Jersey Shore covers
The region’s history page dates the Jersey Shore Region to 1960 and places it in Monmouth and Ocean counties, in PCA’s Zone 1. The same page links the region’s 50th Anniversary Booklet, which covers how the club was founded, and a list of every past president. PCA’s region finder returns Jersey Shore for Freehold and Toms River ZIP codes, and the Northern New Jersey Region covers the north of the state.
What the region runs
The welcome page lists drives to a destination such as dinner, drives through the countryside, cars and coffee, tech sessions, concours, tours of places such as the State House and New Jersey lighthouses, and a high-speed driving event on a racetrack. Four open board meetings a year are where members suggest events.
The recent-events page shows what that looks like in practice: open board meetings at the Anchor Tavern in Belmar with member presentations, such as a talk on getting into a car with no power and starting it on a weak key fob; a tech night in Porsche Monmouth’s service center with a Porsche Cars North America trainer; a private tour of the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in Robbinsville followed by pizza in Bordentown; and a tour of Shore Car Club in Ocean Township.
Thunder in the Pines
The track event is Thunder in the Pines, an August high performance driving event on the Thunderbolt circuit at New Jersey Motorsports Park, run just before the PCA Club Race there. The 2026 edition was the nineteenth. The event page opens it to drivers who do not own a Porsche, in nearly any make. Novices need only a tech inspection and a 2020 or 2025 Snell M or SA full-face helmet, which can be rented at the track. Open-wheel cars, SUVs and EVs are not allowed, and convertibles need a roll bar or cage.
For anyone unsure about the track, there are three gentler options: parade laps behind a pace car with no helmet needed, Taste of the Track rides in an instructor’s car, and Introduction to DE, a single novice session with an instructor aboard. Porsche Edison sponsors a happy hour at the Finish Line Pub after the first day.
The end of the year
The annual meeting is set for 10 November 2026, 5:30pm to 7pm, at the Anchor Tavern, 713 Main St, Belmar, with food provided and an RSVP requested by 5 November. Ideas on its list for 2027 include a detailing clinic, a Formula 1 viewing party, tours of the Simeone Automotive Museum and Battleship New Jersey, and a visit to the InfoAge Science and History Museum in Wall Township.
The holiday party, sponsored by Porsche Monmouth, is on 5 December 2026 at Harbor Point, formerly the Lobster Shanty, at 83 Channel Dr in Point Pleasant Beach, 6pm to 10pm. Tickets are $70 a person, room is limited to 70, and sales close on 19 November. Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Porsche Monmouth’s toy drive for the YMCA of Jersey Shore.
The Shoreline, the region’s newsletter, comes out every two months, with an archive on the site going back to 2011.
New members
The membership page has one rule specific to this region: anyone whose mailing address is outside Monmouth or Ocean County must ask to be assigned to Jersey Shore. If the online form does not offer it, the PCA national office will make the change by phone at (410) 381-0911. Driven Life’s Porsche Club of America page has the national dues and how the application works.
Is there a Porsche club at the Jersey Shore?
The Jersey Shore Region of the Porsche Club of America covers Monmouth and Ocean counties, per its history page, and the PCA region finder returns it for Freehold and Toms River.
Can I drive at Thunder in the Pines without a Porsche?
The event page welcomes drivers in nearly any make. Open-wheel cars, SUVs and EVs are the exceptions, and convertibles need a roll bar or cage.
When is the Jersey Shore Region holiday party?
On 5 December 2026 at Harbor Point in Point Pleasant Beach, 6pm to 10pm. Tickets are $70 and sales close on 19 November.
Can I join Jersey Shore if I live outside Monmouth or Ocean County?
By asking for it. The membership page says members outside those counties must request Jersey Shore, and PCA’s office can change the assignment by phone.
