Tacoma Cars and Coffee meets once a month on a Saturday at LeMay, America’s Car Museum, at 2702 East D Street in Tacoma, from 9am to 11am. The organizer’s Instagram bio gives those hours, and the museum’s page calls it a free community gathering that welcomes all makes and models, “whether you’re bringing your dream car, daily driver, or simply stopping by.” Coffee comes from Naomi Joe Coffee Roasters.
The date moves. The museum says the meet no longer keeps a fixed day each month, and that dates now vary to fit museum parking and other events on site. The organizer’s pinned 2026 calendar lists the remaining dates as Saturday, 28 November and Saturday, 19 December.
When to arrive
Gates open at 9am, and not before. In a post titled “SLEEP IN - NO EARLY ENTRANCE,” the organizer said it needs the morning to make sure museum staff are ready, and that “we’re still a cars & coffee and don’t want to set a precedent that anyone needs to show early.” The exception is the volunteers who help guide parking, who the organizer says may enter early.
Dates shift for the museum’s neighbors too. The June 2026 meet moved from 27 June to 13 June because of a conflict with the Tacoma Dome, per the organizer. September’s meet did not run at the museum: the museum’s page says it was cancelled, and the organizer moved it to Titlow Park for 26 September. October’s returned to LeMay. Check the Instagram account the week of a meet.
Where to park
Parking is first come, first served, starting at the lower field, according to the organizer’s August post. Earlier in the year the organizer described the lawn as the main entrance, with parking around the perimeter of the track, overflow toward the plaza and fire lane, then the main lot, and the upper passage as exit only. A parking map goes up on the organizer’s Instagram story before each meet.
The museum asks everyone to use common sense and good judgment entering, exiting and parking. Its main lot is also where museum visitors park.
How it started
The meet came to LeMay from Titlow Park in Tacoma, and the organizer still refers to how people “used to” cruise in at Titlow. The first meet at the museum drew a crowd the organizer did not plan for. “We weren’t expecting 700+ people to want to spend their Saturday morning with us,” it wrote afterward, apologizing to the people who could not park.
Before you go
The organizer’s bio has three rules: no revving, no burnouts, no fly-bys. Follow the parking volunteers, keep an eye out for museum guests in the main lot, and leave by the exit-only passage at walking pace.
