Griot’s Garage Caffeine and Gasoline, Tacoma

Caffeine and Gasoline is the monthly cruise-in at the Griot’s Garage flagship retail store at 3333 South 38th Street in Tacoma. The car care company’s own page puts it on the first Saturday of every month, starting at 8am, and calls it “our free monthly car show cruise-in.” Griot’s brews the coffee and sets out donuts.

Each month has a theme, but the page is clear that “all kinds of cars are welcome.” The company’s events calendar lists Racecars for 7 November, Lowriders for 5 December, Rally Cars for 2 January, a Local Builders Showcase for 6 February and Ferrari Day for 6 March. Supercars follow in April and Tuner cars on 1 May 2027.

When to arrive

Griot’s publishes a start time, 8am, and no finish. Avants, a Seattle car community that sets up a tent at the event, listed its May 2026 visit as 8am to 10am, and this page uses that as the working window. The store itself opens at 9am Monday to Saturday, according to its own page, so the first hour runs outside regular hours.

It runs every month of the year. The calendar has a date in every month from November 2026 to May 2027, winter included.

The venue

The flagship store is also the company’s headquarters. Inside, Griot’s runs a free Car Care School, where staff demonstrate detailing on your own car, and an Auto Display whose cars change monthly. The company says the display often matches that month’s Caffeine and Gasoline theme.

Griot’s lists other car events in the same building on its calendar. The 2nd Annual Holiday Toy Drive Cruise-In is on Saturday, 12 December, from 9am to 1pm, a week after the December Caffeine and Gasoline.

Griot’s publishes no rules for the cruise-in. It is a working business’s lot, so arrive quietly, park where you are directed, and leave the way you came in. Bring the car that fits the theme if you have one, and any car if you do not.
