Rancho Santa Fe Cars and Coffee is a street meet. The organizer’s about page: it is “held on the public streets at the intersection of Paseo Delicias and Avenida De Acacias in Rancho Santa Fe,” and it gives the address to use: “6004 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067.” The schedule is “every Saturday from 8-11 AM (weather permitting),” and the organizer’s Instagram, a verified account that calls itself “the Official Page For San Diego’s Most Exotic Car Event,” repeats the hours.

When to arrive

8am. The window is three hours, long for a weekly meet, and the village’s coffee shops and restaurants are, per the organizer, “within walking distance.” Weather permitting is the organizer’s only weather wording; a wet forecast means checking its Instagram first.

Where to park

On the street, at the intersection and along Paseo Delicias. The organizer’s address is for navigation, not a lot. The streets are public and residential, and the organizer’s rules are written for exactly that.

The rules

The organizer puts them on its about page, and they are about noise, speed and horses. “Please arrive and leave quietly at a safe rate of speed, be courteous, obey all traffic laws, and do not stand in the street.” And: “Please do not rev your car’s engine to create excessive noise, and drive at a safe speed within the speed limit. Driving at an excessive speed and revving your car’s engine is a nuisance to local residents, is dangerous to pedestrians, and spooks horses on the nearby trails.” Its guidelines page adds the consequence: “if you are unwilling to abide by these reasonable guidelines, it is best to reconsider attending the event.”

Which cars

The organizer’s about page says it welcomes “the finest sports and luxury cars” and lists them: “hypercars, supercars, exotic cars, rare vintage cars, and other extraordinary cars.” Its past special Saturdays say the same thing: a Ferrari Saturday and a Lamborghini Saturday in 2018, a Ford GT Saturday in 2021. A daily driver is welcome to park and walk; it will not be the point.

What is known about its history

The organizer publishes no founding date. Its site carries event galleries from 2018 through 2023 and special Saturdays from 2018, and its X account dates from November 2017. The organizer is unnamed; the site gives a phone number and an email for contact, and remembers two people, Skeets Dunn and Daniel Silva, with memorial events. No local press coverage of the meet was found.

Before you go

Check the organizer’s Instagram on a wet Saturday morning. Drive into the village the way the rules ask, park on the street, and walk to the coffee. The horses on the trails are not a figure of speech.
