The Sunday that outlasted its coffee shop
Supercar Sunday began in 2000 as twenty friends outside Village Coffee Roaster, moved to the Promenade in 2009 when the merchants complained, and now fills a Pierce College lot in Woodland Hills every Sunday from 7am to 10am with 200 to 300 cars. Its organizer posts the rules, the no-show dates and the entrances to use. It is the measure for a Los Angeles meet, and the first one on this page.
What is not here yet
Los Angeles has more meets than any city in the country and most of them are announced on Instagram the week they happen. Malibu Cars and Coffee’s organizer says its events are canceled until further notice. A meet joins this page when its hours and venue can be read on the organizer’s own page; the standing ones in the South Bay, Pasadena and the beach cities are next.
Before you drive
Read the organizer’s page on Saturday night. Supercar Sunday’s rules are the city’s rules in miniature: no revving, no peeling out, no saving spots, and use the entrance the organizer names, because the street address will put you on the wrong side of the campus.
