Coffee and Cars is Houston’s big one, and it keeps its own calendar. The organizer’s events page lists the December meet: “December Coffee and Cars Annual Toy Drive,” Saturday 12 December 2026, at POST Houston, 401 Franklin Street, 2pm to 4pm, with the instruction to “Bring an unwrapped toy for local elementary schools and low income neighborhood.” Registration “OPENS SOON,” per the same page. The year starts again with the “Coffee and Cars 2027 Kick Off Event” on Saturday 2 January 2027, also at POST, 2pm to 5pm.
Where at POST
POST Houston is the former Barbara Jordan Post Office downtown, and its own page for the meet says the cars are “hosted in our East Parking Lot.” The venue page describes the format as an open section “for anyone to come display their incredible machines.” Use 401 Franklin Street and follow the signs to the east lot.
The monthly pattern, honestly
The organizer labels its POST meets monthly and lists them one at a time. The October 2026 meet was Saturday 3 October, a Lamborghini day; the November date is not a POST meet at all but the ticketed All-Stars show at Daikin Park on 7 November, 4pm to 2am. Press in 2025 described a first-Saturday morning: Houstonia wrote that “Coffee and Cars meetups happen every first Saturday of the month” and listed 8am to 11am. The organizer’s current pages give afternoon times. The events page is the record; this page tracks the next POST date.
Which cars
Anything. The organizer’s about page says it in four words: “No judgments, no gatekeeping.” Houstonia’s advice: “Register your vehicle on the website, or just show up to enjoy the rides.” No house rules are published; the venue’s terms apply.
How it started
The organizer’s site: “Since 2004, Coffee and Cars was created for the purpose of sharing the same,” and it was “founded in Houston by Jorge Verdejo with the help from Phil Bres and Bill Fester,” beginning “as a small morning gathering at Uptown Park Houston.” Abe Levitz and Jose Ramirez joined in 2019. The site’s counters claim “20+ years,” “4K+ attendees per event” and “500+ events hosted.”
The Houston Chronicle covered the February 2025 meet at POST: “thousands of car enthusiasts gathered at POST Houston for an open motor show hosted by Coffee and Cars.” Levitz told the paper that “early on it was mainly sort of an informal gathering of people with older, vintage cars,” and told Houstonia what it is now: “There’s no ego here.”
Before you go
Read the organizer’s events page for the date, because the venue’s own calendar and the organizer’s do not always agree. Bring the toy, register if registration has opened, and park in the east lot.
When is the next Coffee and Cars at POST Houston?
Saturday 12 December 2026, 2pm to 4pm, the annual toy drive, per the organizer’s events page. The 2027 kickoff is Saturday 2 January, 2pm to 5pm.
Where is it?
POST Houston, 401 Franklin Street, Houston, Texas 77201, in the East Parking Lot.
Is Coffee and Cars the first Saturday of the month?
It was described that way in 2025 press. The organizer now lists each date individually, and the next two are the second Saturday of December and the first of January.
