Porsche Club of America, Metropolitan New York Region

The Metropolitan New York Region of the Porsche Club of America began in 1952 as The New York Porsche Club. Its Long Island cars and coffee mornings, Tobay Beach autocross, treks, driver education at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock, and The Porsche Post.

About Metro New York

The region’s home page dates it to 1952, when it was founded as The New York Porsche Club, a year before Max Hoffman began importing 356s and three years before the Porsche Club of America existed. It joined PCA in 1958 as the Metro New York Region. The history page adds that The Porsche Post began in 1953 and is still printed, likely the oldest Porsche-specific publication in the country, and that the first Snowflake Rally, a 150-mile event open to members and non-members, ran in 1957. The Post’s 2026 issues are posted on the site month by month.

No map of the territory appears on the site. The PCA region finder returns Metropolitan New York for Manhattan, Staten Island, Long Island ZIP codes in Mineola and Huntington Station, and White Plains in Westchester. The Northern New Jersey Region and the Hudson Valley have regions of their own.

Cars and coffee and socials

Cars and coffee mornings fill much of the social calendar. The fall list shows weekend mornings at Long Island shops such as Grand Elite Motors in West Babylon, Flower Hill Auto Body in Huntington Station and Rich Details in Farmingdale, and the summer list adds Porsche Southampton, Bayport Aerodrome, Belmont Park and Porsche White Plains. The social archive also shows an Oktoberfest, a tech event, a Haunted Halloween morning, a wing night and a December holiday party.

Autocross, treks and the track

Autocross runs at Tobay Beach in Babylon, with event days listed from 7am to 3:30pm, and the season has also used the Nassau Coliseum lot. Anyone unsure of a class can email the autocross chair with the car’s year, make, model and modifications.

Treks are morning drives on twisty back roads. Recent routes on the trek page carry names such as Chasing Waterfalls, Seven Lakes and Countless Curves, and Sundaes on Sunday.

Driver education is registered on ClubRegistration.net by searching for “METRO.” The schedule page lists weekends at New Jersey Motorsports Park on both the Thunderbolt and Lightning circuits, Lime Rock Park, Palmer Motorsports Park and Watkins Glen, where the region runs both an instructed weekend and an all-solo one and offers limited garage rentals. The page is explicit that DE is not racing and records no times.

New members

Each fall the region holds an annual members meeting with officer elections, presentations to new members, a casual car show and lunch; the 2026 meeting was at Belmont Park Village in Elmont. The membership page directs people to join at pca.org and select Metropolitan New York (Zone 1) from the region menu, and names a membership chair for questions. National dues and the application are explained on Driven Life’s Porsche Club of America page.
