Porsche Club of America, Chesapeake Region

The Chesapeake Region of the Porsche Club of America covers Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia and ten Maryland counties. Its monthly socials, autocross with a school for beginners, tours, the Chesapeake Challenge concours and its new member party.

The area Chesapeake covers

The Chesapeake Region was formed in 1961 and sits in PCA’s Zone 2. Its territory is ten Maryland counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Harford, Howard, Kent and Queen Anne’s, which takes in Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia and much of the Eastern Shore. The About page counts more than 1,900 members, more than 600 co-members and more than 100 PCA Junior members, and describes the region as “a social club with a serious car problem.”

Socials and tours

Socials happen every month and move around the region, per the socials page. The breakfast and dinner socials are the regulars, open to all members, with wine tours, brewery lunches and ice cream runs mixed in.

The tour and rally page separates the two. A tour is a non-competitive caravan to a winery, a lunch or another destination. A rally adds light competition between driver and navigator teams at legal speeds. Registration opens several weeks ahead and is announced by email, on the site, in Porsche Patter and on MotorsportReg.

December has two fixtures. The annual toy drive tour starts at Porsche Hunt Valley in Cockeysville, where members pack backpacks of warm clothing for Linda’s Legacy and leave toys for Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, then drive about 50 miles of Baltimore County back roads to lunch; the region says members sponsored more than 250 backpacks the year before. The 2026 calendar adds a garage crawl through three facilities in the Monkton area on 12 December. The year turns with an After Holiday Party at Porsche Annapolis, and the membership page also names a crab feast. The 2027 calendar already lists a Zum Schulhaus Faren II tour for 12 to 15 August.

Autocross and track

Autocross is open to members and non-members. Regular-season entry is $60 for PCA members and $70 for non-members when registered ahead on MotorsportReg. A typical day opens the venue at 7am, closes registration and tech at 8:50am and holds the driver meeting at 9am, followed by a novice course walk. An early-season autocross school is open to all, and drivers of 16 and 17 can take part under a PCA program with parental forms. The neighboring Delaware Region’s calendar lists the Chesapeake autocrosses at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen.

For track days, the driver education page is direct about geography: with no tracks close by, Chesapeake runs DE events jointly with the Potomac Region and other Zone 2 regions.

The Chesapeake Challenge

The concours program runs from casual People’s Choice shows to the Chesapeake Challenge, the region’s main concours. Entrants pick Full Concours, Street-Prepared or Display. Judges score preparation, cleanliness and condition, never touch the car, and do not deduct for stone chips or non-original parts, and older cars earn age points against the newest car in the class. A summer concours school and a judges’ school prepare first-timers.

New members

Each year the region holds a New Member Party at a local Porsche dealer, where new members meet the officers and event chairs, collect a swag bag and tour the facility. The 2026 party is on 21 November, 9am to 11am, at Porsche Annapolis on Hudson Street, with registration on MotorsportReg. New PCA members also get one free autocross entry, and the membership page notes that PCA places members in Chesapeake by home address with nothing further to do. The PCA page has national dues and the join form.

Members receive Porsche Patter, the monthly digital newsletter, which the home page counts at more than 700 issues across 65 volumes.
