BMW Car Club of America, Tejas Chapter

The Tejas Chapter is the BMW CCA chapter for Central and Southwest Texas, with over 1,200 members. It holds third-Saturday cars and coffee in Austin and San Antonio, Hill Country drives on GMRS radio, tech days and the Texas Roundel Roundup.

What the chapter covers

The Tejas Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America covers Central and Southwest Texas, “an area over 100,000 square miles.” It is based primarily in Austin and San Antonio, with members in Waco, Corpus Christi and points between, and its About page counts over 1,200 members, the largest share in the San Antonio to Round Rock corridor. It is one of three BMW CCA chapters in Texas, alongside the Lone Star and Houston chapters. Its mailing address is in Austin.

Third-Saturday cars and coffee

The chapter runs cars and coffee in both cities on the same morning, on what it calls a “3rd-Saturday” cadence, jointly with the 2002 Forever Chapter. There are no RSVPs: come and go, buy a coffee or breakfast and talk BMWs. In Austin the meet is at Austin Grind, 4005 W Parmer Ln, from 8:30am; in San Antonio it is at First Watch, 700 E Sonterra Blvd, from 9am, with no set end time at either. The next posted dates are November 21 and December 19. The San Antonio meet has its own guide on Driven Life.

Drives

Drives take Tejas out of town. Recent fall drives went to Walburg for an Oktoberfest lunch and to Utopia for a drive weekend. Drive sign-ups, such as the one for the Wings and Wheels Fly-In, require an RSVP with a BMW CCA member number and car details, and the chapter emails the full details, maps and electronic waivers to those who sign up.

Every event page asks drivers to bring two-way radios if they have them. The chapter runs on GMRS channel 20, sub-channel 3, recommends true GMRS radios over the weaker FRS sets sold in many stores, and notes that operating GMRS technically requires an FCC license.

The next drive brings both cities together on the road to the Wings and Wheels Fly-In, an annual fundraiser of antique, classic and vintage aircraft and cars at the Pioneer Flight Museum in Kingsbury, on Saturday, November 14. The Austin group meets at 8:30am at Cabela’s in Buda, San Antonio members join at Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels around 9:30am, and the group expects to reach the museum around 10:30am.

Texas Roundel Roundup and tech days

Tejas co-hosts the Texas Roundel Roundup, a statewide weekend run by all three Texas chapters; the 2026 edition was based in Fredericksburg. Tech days at local shops, such as a session at Automotiq, fill out the calendar. The chapter’s resources page lists member-recommended local vendors and a fleet discount at Discount Tire for BMW CCA members. Older events live on an archive site, archive.tejaschapter.org.

The public Facebook page is open to all, but the Facebook group and drive sign-ups ask for a BMW CCA member number. The BMW CCA page explains national dues and how to get one, and other Austin meets are in the Austin cars and coffee guide.
