The Morning Maniacs car club holds a cars and coffee on the downtown McKinney square on the last Saturday of each month. The club’s 2026 calendar gives the hours as 7:30am to 10am and the place as the McKinney Performing Arts Center, the old courthouse, at 111 North Tennessee Street.
The club’s welcome is wide. Its home page says all makes, all models and all years are welcome, domestic and foreign, and its About page lists cars, customs, trucks, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles.
When to arrive
The club’s calendar says the group gets together from 7:30am. Its home page describes the Saturday mornings as running until 10am or 10:30am.
The square is not every last Saturday. On Facebook, the club told members it would not meet downtown on 31 October 2026, and sent them to breakfast at Panera and then to a Halloween show at Discovery Village Twin Creeks in Allen instead. A car app listing says the square also skips September and November; the club’s own calendar says nothing of that. The next date by the club’s rule is Saturday 28 November, the weekend after Thanksgiving, so check the Facebook page that week before driving.
Where to park
The meet centers on the old courthouse, now the McKinney Performing Arts Center, in the middle of the historic square. The club publishes no parking plan. The square is a working downtown with shops and restaurants that open as the morning goes on, so take a marked space, keep driveways clear, and walk the last block rather than circling.
The rest of the week
The square is one of several Saturday stops on the club’s calendar. On the first, second and third Saturdays it meets for breakfast at the Panera at US 75 and Eldorado Parkway, also 7:30am to 10am, and on the first Saturday it lists a cars and coffee in downtown Van Alstyne.
How it started
According to the club’s own history, the Morning Maniacs began meeting for breakfast in 2006 with four members. After the club contacted the Dallas Morning News in January 2007, the paper ran a story that the club credits with giving it a kick start. It now says it has more than three hundred members. The club says the proceeds of its car shows go to charities including Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House and Collin County Meals on Wheels.
Before you go
The club publishes no written rules for the square. It is a public downtown on a Saturday morning. Arrive quietly, leave slowly, and keep the revving for somewhere else.
