Marin to the Oregon border
The Redwood Region’s About page traces it to Porsche owners in Marin County who wanted a club of their own. In September 1968, Dr. John T. Korn, president of the Tamalpais Porsche Club of San Rafael, asked PCA to form a region covering Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties, territory the Golden Gate Region released that December. Redwood was chartered on 20 January 1969 as PCA’s 73rd region, with 15 active members.
Today it spans seven counties from Marin north to the Oregon border. The October 2026 newsletter’s membership report counts 1,194 members and co-members, 773 of them primary members. The PCA region finder returns Redwood for San Rafael and Santa Rosa, and the region’s mailing address is in Santa Rosa.
POSSE and the monthly rhythm
The regular meetup is POSSE, short for Porsche Owners Sunday Social Event, from 8am to 10am at Vintage Oaks in Novato. The newsletter posts its dates one at a time; the current calendar lists 25 October, 22 November and 27 December 2026, each the fourth Sunday of its month. Board meetings run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Torches Restaurant, 256 Petaluma Boulevard North in Petaluma.
The newsletter also lists nearby meets outside the club, including the Marin Motor Social, the cars and coffee that sponsor Porsche Marin hosts on the second Saturday at Strawberry Village in Mill Valley, and a monthly 356 breakfast at the IHOP at Vintage Oaks.
Drives, autocross and the concours
The Driving Tours page describes winding routes to vineyards and coastal towns that end in a picnic or a long lunch, plus rallies and museum visits. Routes go up on the club’s Ride with GPS page. One recent example, a tour led by a member who is a professional archaeologist, left from POSSE for Olompali State Historic Park, Duncans Point and Fort Ross; its organizer plans one or two more next year.
The Autocross page lists a few events a year, with instructors on hand and first-timers encouraged, and Redwood is one of the Zone 7 regions that host the zone’s autocross series. Its 2026 calendar included one at Thunderhill.
The concours takes over Sonoma Plaza each October. The newsletter’s recap describes the city clearing the plaza’s horseshoe before the cars arrive, about 45 Porsches filling it, and PCA Juniors judging added for the latest running.
Charity
CASA of Sonoma County, which advocates for children in foster care, is the region’s primary charity, per the newsletter. Charity Adventure Tours pair a short drive with a work shift at the Redwood Empire Food Bank; the seventh is on 12 November 2026, starting in Windsor. Each winter members and sponsors collect unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots in Sonoma County. The Charity page notes that volunteer events need no Porsche.
The year’s end
In November the region holds its planning meeting at Torches, where any member with an idea for a drive or event can pitch it for next year’s calendar; the 2026 meeting is on 17 November. The Holiday Party follows on 12 December 2026, also at Torches, at $75 a person with the house band Void Where Prohibited.
New members
Per the Membership page, Redwood members join through PCA National, and membership is open to any Porsche owner 18 or older. Each month the newsletter, der Riesenbaum, profiles a new member in its Scheinwerfer column and lists members reaching five-year anniversaries. The national PCA page has dues and the application.
