The area Olympic Peninsula covers
The Olympic Peninsula Region’s About page places it across Puget Sound from Seattle, bounded by the Pacific to the west, the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north, Puget Sound to the east and the Tacoma Narrows to the south. It covers Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason counties, plus the part of Pierce County north of the Narrows Bridge, from Gig Harbor and Bremerton up to Port Townsend and Port Angeles. The page puts membership at about 300, and the region is one of ten in PCA’s Zone 6. The PCA region finder returns it for Bremerton and Port Orchard.
Its History page explains the split. Members on the west side faced a ferry, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge or a long drive to reach Pacific Northwest Region events, and around 2003 a group of 10 to 15 west-side families, known as the Far Siders, began running events of their own. Alex Raphael, Randy Baisden, Gary Hoskins, Gloria Mellon and Brett Burroughs are among those the page credits with forming the new region.
Cars and coffee in Gig Harbor
Porsches Cars and Coffee Gig Harbor is the regular fixture. For the winter, the region’s calendar lists it every Saturday through March 2027 at Hops n Drops, 5414 Point Fosdick Dr, with posted hours of 7:30pm to 10pm. In the warmer months it met on Saturday mornings at the Olympic Village Shopping Center, between McDonald’s and Ross at 5500 Olympic Dr, moving on third Saturdays to Olalla Bay Market and Landing.
Meetings, tours and socials
Members meet monthly for dinner and the member and board meeting, usually in a private room at the Yacht Club Broiler in Silverdale, with dinner at 5:30pm and the meeting at 6:10pm, and occasionally for lunch at 7 Cedars in Sequim. The annual meeting is held each November at the Jefferson County Airport Museum library in Port Townsend, with a suggested $15 donation to the Port Townsend Aero Museum that includes a tour afterward, and a group drives up together from the Kitsap Park and Ride in Poulsbo. The 2026 meeting is on 14 November at noon.
Recent tours on the calendar give the flavor: a day trip to Sol Duc Hot Springs in Olympic National Park with a hike to the falls, a midweek run to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival on the Port Townsend to Coupeville ferry, a weekend winery tour in Prosser shared with other regions, a drive to Porsches and Coffee at LeMay, America’s Car Museum, in Tacoma, and a half-day country-road tour between Port Gamble and Port Townsend.
Each October, members host Fire at Port Ludlow, the region’s chili cook-off, at their home in Port Ludlow; the 2026 edition was the 21st and was billed as a welcome for new members, with a collection for that year’s charity. The Holiday Gala and Charity Auction closes the year, on 5 December 2026 at Kitsap Golf and Country Club. The region also runs a concours judges’ class and a spring detailing seminar at Griot’s Garage in Tacoma, and its newsletter, The NorWester, comes out every two months.
New members
The Join page sends new members to start at PCA and select Olympic Peninsula as the membership region. The region holds a New Member Welcome each spring; the 2026 one was at MAXRPM Motorsports in Bremerton, with lunch, a shop tour and a tour etiquette seminar, free for members. Members who also want Seattle-side events can add an OPR and PNWR dual membership for $20 a year, invoiced by the Pacific Northwest Region, which brings early access to PNWR registration and its newsletter, Spiel.
