The area Loma Prieta covers
The Loma Prieta Region’s join page places its members in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, including Santa Cruz County, and explains how PCA assigns new members by ZIP code. Santa Cruz County goes to Loma Prieta. San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties go to the Golden Gate Region, and Monterey and San Benito counties to Monterey Bay. Anyone who wants Loma Prieta can name it as the preferred region when joining. The site’s footer calls it “The Good Times region since 1970,” and its history menu includes a 35th anniversary walk down memory lane narrated by John Reed.
Tours and rallyes
The Touring with LPR page calls tours a favorite for many members. Participants meet at a set time and place, get a briefing and drive as a group on less traveled roads to a restaurant, winery, museum or park. A few run overnight, to places such as Sonora, San Simeon and a stay in converted train cabooses. A one-day tour costs $5, plus a tank of gas.
The region keeps a running list of past destinations: Dutton-Goldfield in Sebastopol, which it calls a club favorite, Bargetto Winery in Soquel for a Mother’s Day brunch tour, Hahn Winery in Soledad and Sam’s Chowder House in Half Moon Bay. Some tours repeat by name, such as the Jacob’s Heart Tour, which raises money for Jacob’s Heart, and the Olé Amigos Tour on mountain back roads from San Jose to Santa Cruz, whose fifth edition is on 7 November 2026 with lunch at El Jardin.
Rallyes are a separate program. The rallye page calls LPR rallying “a board game on wheels” and runs several formats, from point-to-point and gimmick rallyes to hare and hound, question and answer, and time-speed-distance. None is a speed event.
Autocross
The 2026 season page lists nine autocrosses from March to November at Crows Landing, Salinas Airport and Alameda, some shared with Golden Gate as Zone 7 weekends. First-timers are allowed and get in-car instruction, and the field is capped at 70 drivers at Salinas and 80 at Crows Landing. A guided course walk starts at 8:15am. Registration is open to Porsche and non-Porsche drivers alike, with a discount for PCA members driving Porsches in Zone 7 classes. Drivers need a Snell 2010 or newer helmet, loaners are available, every entrant signs a Speed Waiver, and at Salinas entrants wait at the gate for an escort to the autocross area.
Good Time Gatherings and the year
Socials go by the name Good Time Gatherings. Per the region’s hosting guide, a GTG can be a theme night at a member’s home, such as a chili cook-off or a meatball competition, or an outing to a restaurant, winery, brewpub or ballgame. The board sets $10 a person as the suggested minimum for potlucks and GTGs, and hosts may bring up to four non-member guests at no charge.
The Social page adds an annual family picnic, held at Roaring Camp in 2026, an annual awards banquet and an annual charity event, which in 2026 was a Make-A-Wish outing at Topgolf. Heritage Day at Porsche Stevens Creek is on the recent-events list too. Each November members meet to plan the next year’s calendar.
The rest of 2026 on the home page: the LPR Concours on 8 November at the Porsche Stevens Creek Service Center; a Toys for Tots drive on 22 November ending with lunch at Beeline European Auto Care in Santa Cruz, with an unwrapped toy as the price of entry; the 2027 planning session on 30 November at 6pm; and the 2026 Banquet and Awards, a Black and White Ball, on 5 December at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill. Board meetings are open to members. The region’s e-zine is the Prieta POST.
New members
The join page’s one instruction for a would-be Loma Prieta member outside Santa Cruz County: write Loma Prieta Region in the preferred region box on PCA’s online form. Member badges are handed out at selected events, so the home page suggests checking with the membership chair first. National dues and the application itself are on the Porsche Club of America page.

Santa Cruz County ZIP codes are assigned to the Loma Prieta Region of the Porsche Club of America, per its join page.
