Where the club began
The club traces itself to a 2018 morning drive through the Rancho Santa Fe hills, six or seven friends followed by lunch, per its about page. A 2021 history on the club’s blog names three co-founders for that first drive, Diaa El All, Clément Connor and Giovanni Letellier; the current about page names Connor and Letellier. The same history says the club reached 100 members in March 2021.
Routes
The chapter page runs its routes “from Torrey Pines out to the canyons east of the city,” with coastal roads past Torrey Pines and Del Mar and canyon and mountain roads for longer drives. A January 2026 post on the club’s blog followed one such drive: 120 cars from Rancho Santa Fe up to Julian, ending at Viejas Casino and Resort.
Charity in the home chapter
Several of the club’s charity partners are San Diego organizations. Its philanthropy page lists Voices for Children, San Diego Coastkeeper and Cruise 4 Kids among them, and a 2023 post describes a San Diego drive that gave children in foster care rides with members. In 2026 the chapter ran a police-escorted drive with San Diego Police Department officers, followed by a yacht party, to raise money for the San Diego Police Officers Association Foundation; the club’s blog says it passed its $10,000 goal.
The calendar
The San Diego calendar carries a drive most months from spring to early fall, plus a summer yacht party, then turns to parties. The San Diego Holiday Party on December 5, 2026 is the next listed event.
Joining in San Diego
San Diego, CA is the chapter choice on the application. Dues and process are on the club’s Driven Life page, and the county’s open meets are in cars and coffee in San Diego.
