BMW Car Club of America, New York Chapter

The New York Chapter is the BMW CCA chapter for the New York metro area. It runs an autocross series at Nassau Coliseum, the Vineyard Series on Long Island’s North Fork and the Great Marques of Long Island Concours in Glen Cove.

What the chapter covers

The New York Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America bills itself as “A Car Club For Car Enthusiasts In The Metro New York Area.” It is a non-profit New York corporation, per its About page, and its mailing address in the national directory is in East Meadow, on Long Island. Its autocross, vineyard socials and concours are all held on the Island.

Autocross at Nassau Coliseum

The autocross series is the chapter’s main event. It runs at Nassau Coliseum, and the 2026 season had seven points rounds from mid-May to early October. The 2026 Season Finale is on November 8, 2026, from 8am to 3pm in Lot 6.

On event days, registration and tech run from 8am to 9am, the first car goes off by 10am, and every driver gets eight or more runs, with the aim of finishing by 4pm. The series runs rain, shine or snow. Arrive early, because a parking fee may apply once lot security opens the booths.

The rules are specific. Drivers must be 18 or older with a valid license and wear a Snell 2015 or later helmet. Convertibles may run with or without the roof, the only SUVs allowed are BMW’s X-series, and only instructors may carry passengers. Pre-paid entry is $50 an event for BMW CCA members, with a $10 surcharge for walk-ups. To qualify for the championship, a driver needs five events in the same class and must work both assigned sessions; champions get their trophies at the chapter’s annual holiday banquet.

Shows and summer Sundays

The Vineyard Series is the chapter’s summer social: Sunday gatherings at a vineyard or restaurant on Long Island’s North Fork, where members can, in the chapter’s words, “Wine, Dine or Shine.”

The chapter’s concours page carries the Great Marques of Long Island Concours d’Elegance, held at Morgan Memorial Park in Glen Cove with the Mercedes-Benz club and sponsored by the chapter and Rallye BMW. Classes run from vintage street cars of 1991 and earlier through Neue Klasse street cars of 2010 to 2023, with a Hagerty Best of Show.

Schools and services

The chapter’s high performance driving school pages describe a spring weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park run with the New Jersey Chapter; the most recent listing posted is for 2024. Helmets must be M or SA 2015 or newer. It also points families to Tire Rack Street Survival for teen drivers.

Beyond events, the About page lists a printed newsletter, Die Zugspitze, technical advice and a chapter toolkit loan program.

Joining at the Coliseum

A non-member’s first autocross costs $70 and carries a one-year club membership, after which events are $50 for the rest of the year, so the Coliseum doubles as the chapter’s front door. Otherwise the site points to bmwcca.org for membership paperwork and invites questions to any board member. On Driven Life, the BMW CCA page covers national dues.
