What the chapter covers
The Delaware Valley Chapter (DelVal) of the BMW Car Club of America was founded in 1975 and describes itself as “a diverse group of more than 2,000 BMW enthusiasts in the extended Philadelphia metropolitan area.” Its official address, on the chapter’s contact page, is a mailbox on North Main Street in Doylestown, in Bucks County.
The home page is plain about who belongs: “It doesn’t matter to us what model BMW you drive or even whether you drive a BMW at all.” The chapter is all-volunteer and run by a board its members elect.
What it runs
DelVal’s calendar sorts chapter events into board meetings, HPDE and on-track days, socials, special events, Tire Rack Street Survival schools, tours and drives, and a Vintage Group for older BMWs. A separate set of categories flags local and national car events run by others, plus other BMW chapters’ events, so the calendar doubles as a regional listing.
Two of those outside listings are regular Saturday and Sunday stops for DelVal members. Cars and Coffee at Northbrook Marketplace, 1805 Unionville-Wawaset Road in West Chester at the corner of Route 842 and Northbrook Road, appears on several November Saturdays from 7:30am to 9am. The listing notes that the marketplace opens at 8am, that many people arrive earlier, and that it “gets busy in nice weather.” Main Line Cars & Coffee, at 1300 Morris Drive in Wayne, is listed from 7:30am to noon on a Sunday. Neither needs registration.
For a show, DelVal has co-produced the Bavarian Heritage Invitational with the New Jersey Chapter: a judged, BMW-only concours and display corral on the grounds around the Finish Line Restaurant at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville.
Street Survival, the teen car-control school, runs with the BMW CCA Foundation, and the home page carries a short video about it. The chapter also has its own Pennsylvania license plate, which can be personalized with up to five letters or numbers, subject to PennDOT availability.
First visit
The home page has a “First Time Visitor?” welcome that points newcomers to the event calendar and to volunteering, and the chapter’s member liaison takes questions at memberliaison@delvalbmwcca.org. Registration for chapter events happens on the DelVal site’s own calendar. National dues and the join form are on the BMW CCA club page.
Is there a BMW club in the Philadelphia area?
Yes. The Delaware Valley Chapter of the BMW CCA, founded in 1975, counts more than 2,000 members across the extended Philadelphia metro, per its home page.
Where is there BMW cars and coffee near Philadelphia?
DelVal’s calendar lists Cars and Coffee at Northbrook Marketplace in West Chester on Saturday mornings, 7:30am to 9am, and Main Line Cars & Coffee in Wayne on a Sunday morning. Both are open meets run by others that the chapter lists for its members.
Do I need to drive a BMW to join DelVal events?
No. The home page says it does not matter what model BMW a member drives, “or even whether you drive a BMW at all.” Track days and Street Survival carry their own vehicle rules.
Can I get a DelVal license plate in Pennsylvania?
Yes. The chapter offers its own Pennsylvania plate, personalized with up to five letters or numbers if the combination is available on PennDOT’s plate lookup.
