The area Musik-Stadt covers

The region’s home page calls Musik-Stadt the official PCA Porsche club for Nashville, Franklin, Clarksville, Murfreesboro and surrounding communities. Its About page puts membership above 1,200 in Middle Tennessee: more than 800 primary members, more than 400 associates and 58 junior members. The PCA region finder returns Musik-Stadt for downtown Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Clarksville and Columbia ZIP codes.

How the region began

The name is German for “music city.” The About page traces the region to a chance meeting of Chuck Elderd and John Hudson at a gas station in Brentwood in 1981. Elderd was a DJ on FM 106 and promoted the idea on air, and about 70 people came to the first organizational meeting in the board room of the old Nashville City Bank on Union Street, where Musik-Stadt beat Music City USA, Cumberland, Harpeth River and Volunteer State as the name. The first events were a concours at Vaughn Motors on 3 October 1982, a joint concours with the Mercedes-Benz club at the Belle Meade mansion and an autocross on the driver training course at MTSU. Zone 3 representative Len Turner presented the charter in November 1982 with 55 members, and Hudson was the first president.

The monthly calendar

The club breakfast meeting is on the first Saturday of each month at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cool Springs, 9150 Carothers Parkway in Franklin: breakfast at 8am, business at 8:45am and done by 9:30am, at $13, with a section of the lot reserved for members’ cars, per the region’s calendar.

Smaller gatherings fill the other weekends. Club cars and coffee meets on the second Saturday at Brentwood Place on Franklin Road and on the third Saturday at One Bellevue Place on Highway 70 South, a west-side meet started by the region’s webmaster. Porsches and Pancakes is on the fourth Saturday at First Watch on Meridian Boulevard in Franklin. Porsches and Pizza, with no RSVP needed, is on the third Wednesday at Coco’s West on Harding Pike, and Porsches and Happy Hour meets on the first Thursday at Jonathan’s Grille in Murfreesboro.

Drives and track days

The driving chair runs a monthly club drive, with slots reserved through him, per the Driving Activities page. Recent routes on the calendar show the style: back roads through Williamson and Maury counties to the Mt Pleasant Grille, a run through Hickman County to Papa Kay Joe’s barbecue in Centerville, the Catfish Crawl to Ashland City, and a trip down the Natchez Trace, with its strict 50 mph limit, to a private Porsche collection in Florence, Alabama. The next drive, on 14 November 2026, heads into the Upper Cumberland for lunch in Gainesboro, meeting behind the Cracker Barrel in Lebanon.

The region does not list track days of its own. Member Tim Artist keeps a list of track-day organizers and tracks, updated for 2026, linked from the home page, and the region’s calendar carries Zone 3 HPDE weekends at Barber Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta.

Concours, Oktoberfest and the banquet

The region’s wrap-up of its 2026 concours calls the Concours d’Musik-Stadt “the region’s biggest event every year.” It is held at 111 Motorcars in Franklin, where the 2026 edition, the 13th, judged 12 classes from the 356 through the 992 plus an exotic, race, modified and outlaw class. The same venue hosts the fall Oktoberfest, run with other area German car clubs and in its fifth year in 2026, and the chili cook-off, which drew ten chili chefs in 2025. The annual banquet was held at Old Natchez Country Club in 2026.

Solid Gold, the region’s magazine, is digital only, with an issue for every month of 2026 through October. The social media chair also sends a weekly email of upcoming events, which members control through the communications settings in their pca.org account.

New members

The join page explains that a new member’s ZIP code places them in Musik-Stadt. The calendar lists a New Member Reception on 12 November 2026 at Porsche of Nashville in Cool Springs, with invitations going to new members by email. A Musik-Stadt name tag costs $20 through the “Request $20 Name Tag” option on the contact page. For national dues and the application, see the Porsche Club of America page.
