Porsche Club of America, Gold Coast Region

The Gold Coast Region is the Porsche Club of America in Miami-Dade, Broward, the Keys and southern Palm Beach County. Its Porsches and Pancakes breakfasts, monthly socials, driver education, concours and the 48 Hours at Sebring club race.

The area Gold Coast covers

The Gold Coast Region’s new member guide calls it the South Florida home of the Porsche Club of America. Its history page sets the area as Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward counties and part of southern Palm Beach County; north of that, the Gulfstream Region takes over. The About page counts more than 3,600 members.

The region traces itself to November 1963, when a few Porsche owners met at the Space Satellite Motel on a then-empty stretch of A1A in Pompano Beach, and it became PCA’s 53rd region. Four and a half years later it hosted the 13th Porsche Parade, named Sonnenfest and renamed Soggyfest after a week of rain, per the history page. PCA named Gold Coast its Region of the Year in 1986.

Breakfasts and socials

Breakfast is the signature. The Porsches and Pancakes page invites members to breakfasts on the first Saturday of the month at several locations, a second Sunday Porsches and Pancakes, and a fourth Wednesday social in Miami-Dade and Broward. The socials page describes a third Thursday happy hour instead, so the region’s calendar is the place to confirm that evening’s date and venue.

Drive and dines range from a nearby restaurant to a run across the state for stone crabs, which the 2026 calendar ran in late October. The same calendar had an Oktoberfest at the Biergarten in Boca Raton, and the 2026 holiday party is on 21 November aboard a yacht, per the November issue of Die Porsche Kassette, the region’s monthly newsletter. Gold Coast CARES, the region’s charity committee, raises money for Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades.

Driver education and the 48 Hours at Sebring

Gold Coast started its driver education program in 1984, among the first regions to do so, per the history page. The DE page walks a first-timer through the day: register and pay on ClubRegistration.net, have the car inspected beforehand at one of the region’s approved tech stations, bring a helmet rated SA 2020 or newer (there are no loaners), and arrive early for the driver meeting, usually at 8am. Track time runs one to two hours a day, and the rest is paddock socializing.

With the Suncoast Region, Gold Coast held its first club race at Sebring in 1994. It is now the 48 Hours at Sebring, which the club racing page calls the largest PCA club race: four days, more than 350 entrants, a night race on Thursday and Friday since 2008, and an Advanced Solo DE group and an autocross alongside. Attending is free for PCA members, families and friends, and volunteers work beside the paid SCCA corner workers. The 2027 race is set for 4 to 7 February, with volunteer registration open.

The region holds at least two concours a year, run as social events that usually judge the exterior only, with cars grouped by decade, per its concours page. Members who want Parade-level judging can learn from the region’s judges.

New members

The new member guide sets the order: join PCA, create a free ClubReg account, then come to an event, with Porsches and Pancakes as “the perfect low-key first outing.” It asks newcomers to introduce themselves to the hosts. Every new member is mailed a Gold Coast Region badge, which can take about four weeks, and a co-member can be added at no cost by email. The PCA page covers national dues and the application.
